The checker reconstructs a quotation from your entries and compares it with the shop's total, if supplied. A difference can mean a missing charge, a different calculation method or rounding; ask for an itemised explanation.
GST for this calculation
For a retail purchase of finished jewellery, this tool applies 3% GST to the total transaction value, including making charges. This follows CBIC's Gems & Jewellery FAQ, question 7. Making discounts here are assumed to be shown on the invoice before tax. Separate repair or job-work services and old-gold exchanges are outside this checker's scope.
Compare the jewellery as well as the price
Different weights, purity, stones, designs and workmanship can explain price differences. A lower total does not establish better value. This tool cannot verify gold purity, authenticity or whether a seller is trustworthy.
